As part of our education efforts, Plug in America hosts electric vehicle (EV) ride and drive events across the country. We bring EVs to communities and highlight the benefits of driving electric. Attendees can test drive EVs without having to go to a dealership and receive educational materials, including our EV Guide.
After the COVID-19 pandemic began, we quickly shifted from hosting in-person EV ride and drive events to virtual events. While nothing can replace the first-hand experience of driving an EV, our virtual ride and drive events bring viewers along for an EV test drive. Dedicated EV drivers give us a tour of their EV and take viewers on a ride-along, while also educating our audience members about charging, incentives, and best practices for driving EVs. Below are two videos from our virtual ride and drive events.
These virtual ride and drive events can be adapted for a number of different situations, locations, and vehicles, and can include live events on Zoom, giving participants an opportunity to interact with the driver live.
