In partnership with the Children’s Institute, support from dedicated EV enthusiasts, and the VinFast Auto Group, Plug In America hosted an unforgettable ride-and-drive at the Full STEAM Ahead event in Watts, CA, on June 1, 2024. This event focused on educating families, especially those with young children, about the numerous benefits of electric vehicles (EVs) through engaging and interactive activities.
We organized an exciting EV scavenger hunt, giving children an opportunity to explore EVs and let their imaginations play with fun features like honking the horn and turning the steering wheel. The kids also imagined what they would pack in the frunk (front trunk) if they were going on a vacation.
One of the highlights of the day was the delightful children’s car show. The Children’s Institute challenged kids, with the help of their families, to get creative and build cardboard cars and bring them to the event.
The event saw energetic participation from various community organizations, including the Los Angeles Police and Fire Departments, which added to the vibrant community spirit. Families came together while learning about EVs, and the children’s joy and excitement was apparent.
The Full STEAM Ahead Event was not just educational but also a neighborhood gathering that all in attendance seemed to enjoy. We are grateful for everyone who participated and made this day a success!
