Free educational webinars on topics related to the emerging plug in market are a relatively new project for us at Plug In America. Some cover the basics; others are more technical.
The registration and attendance information from our most recent webinar: Everything you Wanted to Know About Charging But Were Afraid to Ask the Salesperson, by Tom Saxton, Richard Kelly, and David Atherton, provides a telling glimpse into the market.
The registered audience came from 42 states and four Canadian provinces. With apologies to the left coast, 65% of webinar registrations came from outside California.
What do Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin share in common? Each of these states was represented by registered participants for the webinar.
Two-thirds of those registered did not own electric cars – half are planning a purchase soon.
And those who participated in the webinar clearly cared. During the hour that our presenters spoke and answered questions, over 80% of attendees had the webinar at the front of their desktop.
Thanks to everybody for making the webinar a big success. Please send us your suggestions for topics we should cover to info@pluginamerica.org. We’ll announce the next webinar soon!
(BTW – many thanks to the folks who either announced the webinar and/or wrote about it, including Blink Network, Green Car Reports, High Volt Electric, and the individuals who provided additional support via twitter).
