Looking back: Plug In America’s public service announcements

Ten years ago, Plug In America volunteers created several public service announcements to promote the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). In these light-hearted videos, they bring to life the benefits of EVs, compared to gas-powered vehicles. In a brilliant analogy, they compared the use of a gas-powered cellphone to an electric-powered cellphone. In addition, famous actor Fabio even starred in a PSA! The EV industry was definitely different back then, but these videos continue to demonstrate EVs are convenient and cleaner. Watch the PSAs below!

  1. Paul Scott says:

A small irony is that Marvin Campbell, the actor who played “Gasoline” had been driving EVs for years, but the young actor who played “Electric” was still, at that time, driving a gas-burner. I’m sure he’s made the switch by now.

That was a fun day. Lots of good people volunteered to make it happen.
