Electric vehicles (EVs) are the future for transportation. While the percent of EVs on roads today is small, over the coming years they will become ubiquitous. In the process, millions of consumers will be introduced to EVs through their first test drive. The quality of that experience is crucial in speeding the transition to driving electric.

A new array of partnerships with auto companies is growing to help facilitate that first EV introduction. States and utilities can play a crucial role in organizing brand-neutral first drive experiences. In this webinar, Plug In America spotlights two particularly powerful model test drive partnerships: the state of Massachusetts with its MASS DRIVE CLEAN campaign, now in its third year, and San Diego Gas & Electric’s workplace driving campaign, along with their regional partnership on the 5th Annual National Drive Electric Week’s EV Day San Diego. These campaigns host some of the largest EV test drive experiences in the world; they have assembled consumer feedback data over multiple years and from disparate geographies that speak to the power and potential for well-crafted first drive experiences.

In this webinar, Plug In America, REACH Strategies, and representatives from Massachusetts and San Diego Gas & Electric will discuss:
• How to create a powerful first EV driving experience
• Lessons learned from leading campaigns
• The role of highlighting consumer incentives and infrastructure education in first drive outreach
• The importance of survey work to track consumer attitudes

Moderator: Katherine Stainken, Policy Director, Plug In America

Speakers:
Kirk Brown, CEO, REACH Strategies
April Bolduc, EV Customer Engagement Manager, San Diego Gas & Electric
