There are three types, or levels, of EV charging. Level 1 charging is the slowest and is done when your vehicle is plugged into a standard 120-volt outlet that you would plug a phone or toaster into. Level 2 charging is faster and requires a 240-volt outlet, which is similar to a dryer or oven. DC Fast Charging or DCFC (sometimes referred to as Level 3 charging) is the fastest charging option and is typically used for road trips or by drivers without home charging.
