Plug In America applauds the House passage of the Build Back Better Act

EV funding in the BBBA is vital for the future of our transportation system

LOS ANGELES—On November 19th, 2021, the House of Representatives passed the Build Back Better Act which contains historic levels of funding to make EVs more affordable and accessible across the Nation’s transportation system. The bill now heads to the Senate for consideration before going to a full vote from Congress.

In response, Joel Levin, executive director of Plug In America, released the following statement:

“Today, members of the House took an important step toward making electric transportation a reality for all Americans by passing the BBBA. We want to thank our Plug In America supporters in all 50 states for sending Congress tens of thousands of messages urging them to pass the EV provisions in the BBBA, and we thank all other partners working with us to do the same. Now, we must keep our foot firmly on the accelerator pedal to ensure that the Senate fully supports the EV provisions as well, and that a final bill is passed by Congress and signed by the president. Please go to RealEVChange.org and continue making your voice heard. We are having an impact!”
