Plug In America commends Congress for passing the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and calls on it to now pass the Build Back Better Act
LOS ANGELES—Following the passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, Plug In America Executive Director Joel Levin released the following statement:
“The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) is an important start to electrifying the nation’s transportation system. The investments in EV charging infrastructure and electric school buses in the IIJA will assist in the development of a clean, sustainable transportation system.
“However, the IIJA contains just a small percentage of the total EV investments that President Biden has called for, so there is much more to be done. By passing the Build Back Better Act (BBBA), Congress will make President Biden’s full vision for an EV future a reality. It will make EVs affordable through new and used EV tax credits, ensuring that underserved communities have access to EVs, and make it possible to electrify all forms of on-road transportation. Plug In America, the millions of EV consumers we represent, and all of our partners committed to an electric transportation future will work together until the BBBA is ready to sign and on the president’s desk.
