LOS ANGELES—Plug In America, a national nonprofit accelerating the shift to electric vehicles (EVs), is excited to announce that its annual fall campaign, National Drive Electric Week, is shifting to National Drive Electric Month. This year’s events will run from Friday, Sept. 12, to Friday, Oct. 12, 2025.
This nationwide initiative will be extended from its usual 10-day run to an entire month in response to ongoing success and growing demand from event organizers to expand the timeframe to allow for greater participation, more extensive city representation and more opportunities for the public to engage and experience these events. This change is accompanied by an updated logo to reflect the campaign’s newest iteration and name.

“We’re busting at the seams,” said Joel Levin, Plug In America’s executive director. “We can’t fit all these events into 10 days anymore.“
“Expanding National Drive Electric Week into National Drive Electric Month creates more impact and empowers communities across the country to embrace the future of clean transportation,” said senior events manager Liesl Pimentel. “More events can be included and supported by our national partners and sponsors, and more community members will be able to experience and learn about EVs.”
In addition to National Drive Electric Month, Plug In America and organizing partners host Drive Electric Earth Month every April. The campaigns feature events in nearly every state where people can experience test drives, educational events and advocacy activities. These events are registered on their respective websites where members of the public can easily find the nearest event and sign up to volunteer or attend.
Event organizers can now submit information for their Drive Electric Earth Month event at DriveElectricEarthMonth.org to get their event listed on the national website and receive support from Plug In America staff. Event registration for National Drive Electric Week will open soon.
Plug In America partners with Electric Vehicle Association, Sierra Club, EVHybridNoire, and Drive Electric USA to make these events possible.
