Plug In America calls on Congress to invest in EVs
WASHINGTON—Plug In America and its supporters across the country are calling on members of Congress to fully invest in electric vehicles (EVs) and EV infrastructure by passing a robust Build Back Better (reconciliation) bill. Earlier this year, President Biden proposed $174 billion in EV investments over the next ten years, which is necessary for the United States to shift to clean EVs.
Electric vehicle drivers and other EV supporters are contacting their members of Congress at RealEVChange.org. There, they can not only tell Congress to fully fund the president’s EV proposals, but they can also take action on a number of specific provisions in the Build Back Better bill, including EV tax credits, charging, access for underserved communities, exciting 2- and 3-wheeled EVs, electric school buses and transit buses, and medium- and heavy-duty EVs.
“Electric vehicles will not only reduce the devastating effects of climate change, but they also create good domestic jobs and provide benefits to drivers,” said Joel Levin, executive director of Plug In America. “It’s clear that the future of transportation is electric and we cannot afford for the U.S. to be left behind in this global shift.”
