Plug In America calls for electric vehicle tax incentives
Congress should pass incentives to transform our transportation system
WASHINGTON—The House Ways and Means Committee is currently considering new tax incentives for electric vehicles. In response, Plug In America Executive Director Joel Levin released the following statement:
“On behalf of the more than two million electric vehicle (EV) drivers in the United States, Plug In America supports the draft language on tax incentives for EVs before the House Ways and Means Committee, as currently written. The bold approach being considered by the Committee would be an important step to move our country to 50% market share for EVs by 2030, as proposed by the President. EVs not only reduce the impacts of climate change, but they also create good jobs, support our economy, and provide a superior driving experience for consumers. The proposed purchase and infrastructure incentives will have a dramatic impact on EV adoption and significantly transform the nation’s transportation system for generations. We encourage Congress to pass them without delay.”
