Coming Soon: Tools and Resources for Plug-in Dealers and Consumers
Introducing Dealers Drive Electric
It takes more than eye-catching design to win people over to electric driving. Discovering, acquiring, and owning a plug-in car plays a big part as well. Much of the excitement comes from seeing just how easily an EV or plug-in hybrid can fit into your home and lifestyle, making everyday living more convenient, affordable and fun. At Plug In America, we want every plug-in buyer to have an exceptional ownership experience – one they can’t wait to share with their friends, family and co-workers.
Now Plug In America is launching an exciting new initiative for consumers – one that recruits dealers ready to step up and deliver the full promise of electric driving to their customers. Over the next few months, we will offer consumers new capabilities such as an online car shopping assistant complete with the ability to connect with qualified retail outlets. We will equip dealers for success by providing focused EV training, including a one-stop information hub for incentives and rate programs. We will also provide avenues to tap local and community resources who stand ready to support dealers in their efforts to ensure customers experience the best of electric driving.
The campaign takes the guesswork out of switching to a plug-in with new online capabilities that will give consumers the tools to:
- Decide if a plug-in is right for you
- Find models and accessories that best fit your individual needs
- See how much government incentives and EV rate programs from local utilities can lower your effective monthly payment
- Discover even more by savings by pairing your electric car with clean renewable energy
- Take a test drive at a ride-and-drive event near you
- Book a test drive with a trained EV advisor at a convenient time and place of your choosing
The program also offers dealers no cost tools to:
- Understand and close the plug-in customers we refer
- Get up-to-the-date information on public incentives and utility rates in one convenient place
- Speed plug-in purchase transactions and sales turns while lifting CSI scores
- Maintain profitability while using plug-in sales to meet other business priorities
- Create loyal customers and drive more traffic to the store
Our first stops will be in San Diego and Boston where we will connect car shoppers with qualified dealers. There, expert advisors will be ready to put you behind the wheel of a plug-in car equipped with your preferred accessories at a prearranged price few can match – making it easy to make the switch to a better, safer and cleaner driving alternative.
Stay tuned to these pages. A call for interested dealers will follow in the coming weeks.

Ray Ishak is a 19 year veteran With Nissan and one of the early adopters of the Nissan Leaf in both sales and individual usage. When Nissan announced the production of the Leaf, Ray and his dealer, Campbell Nissan, realized quickly that a specialized person or team needed to be extensively trained to handle every aspect of EV ownership, not just the initial sale process. He understood that this product needed a new approach and a key for success was also to raise awareness by organizing presentation and test drive public events. This helped him become the top Leaf sales professional in the world for individual sales in 2014 and 2016. Ray has an extensive knowledge of dealer operations which is crucial in helping understand and overcome obstacles that may arise in the efforts of collaborating, motivating and educating dealers on the benefits of EV sales. Ray just celebrated another milestone where his EV clients have surpassed the one million gallons of fuel saved per year in the Greater Seattle metro area.
