Plug-in cars are becoming quite the story! Big and small automakers are announcing plug-in hybrids and electric cars for the not-so-distant future. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is reviewing and revising the Zero Emission Vehicle Mandate and will be meeting in early 2008 to vote on changes and hopefully improvements. Tesla is only months from delivering the first new full function battery electric cars in half a decade. Here are some stories you'll want to read. Plug In America has been actively working with CARB since the board addressed the ZEV Mandate at its May 2007 public meeting.

Dear Ms. Nichols,
I want to have the choice to use cleaner, cheaper, domestic electricity to power my car.

This year, organizers expect more than 10,000 attendees, what with last year's success and the avalanche of announcements about exciting new plug-ins from industry heavy weights such as GM, Ford, Volvo and Toyota.

Roughly the same amount of energy would be required to fuel this Hummer as it would to fully charge at least four Teslas.
